Miri - 5th Anniversary

The dance group of the Miri Che Sing Khor Moral Uplifting Society celebrated their 5th anniversary with plenty of dances, performed by ourselves as well as by invited groups. "Because I love You" performed by our group.

Miri and Serian/Kuching Social Integration
11-13 May 1998
We visited our friends in the capital of Sarawak. Took us 55 minutes by Boeing from Miri to Kuching. This was a Chinese 1 fan dance "Flowers of the Spring" that the Miri and the Serian group did together on the 11 May. We met with the Kuching group on the 12 May.

Miri and Limbang/Lawas Social Integration
Another year passed. Our Kuching and Singapore friends visited and taught us some dances. Year 1996, we had an enjoyable time visiting the Bintulu and Sibu groups in the north. Year 1997, we decided to go south for a change.
21 May 1997, Limbang. Another enjoyable bus ride. A picture of a dual fan dance entitled "Singing in the Dusk" that was presented.
22 May 1997 - Lawas. They came to visit us in 1995. It was our turn to pay them a visit. Picture of our group taken in the little town's garden.

Miri and Bintulu/Sibu Social Integration
The dance group in the Miri Che Sing Khor Moral Uplifting Society was now in her 3rd year. We had a visit from the Lawas dance group in August 1995. We performed at the Senior Citizens dinner party in October 1995. The members came regularly to the classes. Time for more events and experience. We decided to visit other dance groups in the state.
5 April 1996 - Bintulu. Took 3 hours bus ride from Miri to Bintulu. Nelly and me doing the 'Blue Tango'.
6 April 1996 - Sibu. Another 3 hours bus ride from Bintulu to Sibu. One of the dances persented - a Middle-East folk dance entitled "Easy Step", done in circle formation.

After 2 years of formation, the dance group of the Miri Che Sing Khor Moral Uplifting Society was ready to receive her first dance group visitors from Lawas. Nelly and me doing "Sing with Love".
